Davidson Choir Camp - St. Alban’s Episcopal Church will host what it hopes will be the first annual Davidson Choir Camp: a week of song, rhythm, and fun for children in grades 2-9. It will be July 27 to Aug. 1. The Choir Camp not only teaches and enhances music literacy skills, but educates the whole singer through work with sight-singing, choral skills, and exposure to different musical styles, ranging from the Anglican repertoire to Gospel and African music. The session concludes with a performance by all participants on Sat., Aug. 1 at 2 p.m. The camp is open to two age groups: Primary Level (rising 2nd – 5th graders) and Secondary Level (rising 6th – 9th graders). Lake Norman Teen Council - The Council has been established to provide North Mecklenburg teens in high school and middle school an opportunity to develop a foundation for volunteer opportunities, social interaction, programming, teamwork, and leadership skills. Teens will serve the community and create programming for their peers. Who makes up Teen Council? – High School and Middle School teens who live in North Mecklenburg. The Council is comprised of teens that express an interest in actively developing opportunities for all teens in the community. A service club for 6th - 10th graders. At this time there are no membership fees. Event and trip activities may incur a fee depending on the activity. Teen Camp - Join us as we experience new and adventuresome activities. Through field trips and programs, participants will develop self-confidence, independence, friendship, and the abilities to cope together as a group. Some of our trips and highlights are as follows: White Water Rafting, High and Low Ropes courses with Team Building Challenges, Canoeing, Tubing,Wakeboarding, Hiking, and a Trip to Carowinds. Panthers Training Camp Trip - Join the Huntersville Parks and Recreation Department as we take a trip to Spartanburg, SC to spend the day at the Carolina Panthers Training Camp. Davidson United Methodist Vacation Bible School - Davidson United Methodist Church’s free Vacation Bible School will be held June 22-25. We offer both a morning session (9 am -12 pm) and an evening session (5:30-8:30). There is no cost for attending! Currently, for a nominal fee, we plan to offer a dinner option for children and families attending the evening session. Morning participants will receive a snack each day. This year’s theme is Camp E.D.G.E., an extreme adventure camp where children Experience and Discover God Everywhere! CAMP E.D.G.E. is an action-packed program that includes rockin’ contemporary music, cool recreation games, incredible science activities, extreme sports videos, and fun, challenging crafts.
